Bernardini Tartufi

Keyword: Quality

Bernardini Tartufi is a young, vibrant company with a long-standing tradition, driven by the belief that truffles are one of the most exceptional products the region has to offer.
In addition to all the varieties of fresh seasonal truffles, it offers a selection of the highest quality products, crafted with the utmost care both during production and in the selection of all ingredients and raw materials.
Cristina and Simona's twenty years of experience, combined with modern production equipment, ensures the right balance between the now-lost flavors of "homemade" and a touch of modernity and risk.
All this without sacrificing craftsmanship, attention to the needs of increasingly refined, curious, and novel consumers, and respect for the environment.
The production cycle is fully monitored and able to provide detailed and documented information on all processing phases, precisely to guarantee safety, transparency, and reliability to the consumer.

The family

A cultural baggage

Grandpa Tino, nicknamed Lambrusco, raised us from our childhood with stories of his life spent in the Apennine forests.
He told us how, as a child, after his father Gigi returned from being wounded in the Alps during the First World War, he quickly learned the trade of truffle hunter out of necessity.
He told us how, in the 1940s, he would set out on foot through the forests of Marche, Umbria, and Tuscany, sleeping at farmers' homes, often in cowsheds, and on Sundays he would go to the square in Acqualagna, where he was awaited by merchants from northern Italy, eager to buy the truffles he had collected.

In the years that followed, despite his profession as a stonemason, after purchasing a Vespa, which he carried with him his trusty truffle dog, Grandpa Lambrusco continued to search for the precious tuber only at night so he could be at work the next morning. The beginning was dictated by necessity, then, a bit like gold prospectors, the need transformed into a fever, which was passed down to Maurizio, who, first as a researcher, then as an entrepreneur, turned this invaluable tuber into his own company and business.

In the early 1990s, Maurizio founded his own company, in which Cristina and Simona, upon completing our studies, became active participants.

After 20 long years of experience, we decided to set up our own business and follow in the family footsteps, establishing Bernardini Tartufi.

Our family history, more than just a story, is a true cultural legacy, something that has always been there, even before we were born, and that we will have the pleasure of passing on in some way.

Acqualagna, the truffle capital

Nestled between Romagna, Umbria, and Tuscany, a stone's throw from Urbino, a city that symbolizes the Italian Renaissance (now a UNESCO World Heritage Site), nestled in the valleys between the Apennines and the evocative Furlo Gorge (one of Italy's most captivating nature parks and a state-owned national reserve), the small town of Acqualagna is the home of the white truffle (Tuber magnatum Pico).
Acqualagna has a centuries-old tradition of hunting, producing, and marketing truffles.

Thanks to its unique soil and climate, this small town has become world-famous for producing not only the prized Acqualagna white truffle (Tuber magnatum Pico), but also all other truffle species.
Depending on the season, it's possible to taste the various types of tuber, and for this very reason, Acqualagna holds the title of Truffle Capital.
For over 50 years, Acqualagna has hosted one of the most prestigious events in the sector, the National White Truffle Fair, which takes place between late October and mid-November, when the white truffle reaches its full ripeness and quality.
