Bernardini Tartufi
Our daily commitment to the environment
Bernardini Tartufi has always placed great importance on interaction with the environment, considering respect and protection of the land and its resources one of the fundamental values on which our entire corporate policy is based.
Our product itself reminds us of the importance of preserving and protecting the delicate balance of nature: truffles grow wild in completely uncontaminated areas, far from mass cultivation and any type of pollution that could inhibit their growth.
For this reason, we believe it is our duty to adopt daily measures that minimize our environmental impact.
Our commitment translates into tangible activities:
- We reduce the use of plastic whenever possible. Our containers are mostly glass jars or aluminum cans.
- We use eco-friendly, recyclable, biodegradable, and PCFC-certified pallets;
- We use local raw materials, encouraging local economic activity and reducing pollutant emissions from long-distance transportation;
- We do not produce CO2 or hazardous waste, in full compliance with environmental legislation;
- We provide staff with periodic training to avoid behaviors that are harmful to the environment and health.
We are regularly committed to protecting workplace safety and upholding the value of workers within the production process: it is essential that employees understand the importance of their role in the company and their responsibility to ensure the quality of the products and services provided. - We are committed to the process of separating materials for proper waste collection;
- We recover materials considered "waste", reintegrating them into the production cycle.
The soil from harvested truffles, for example, contains several organic substances that are very useful for the natural mycorrhization of truffle grounds.
The brine used to sterilize truffles is an excellent natural flavoring to add to your dishes. - To help consumers dispose of packaging, we've added an environmental label to each package containing all the information needed for proper waste separation.
- Our product packaging also honors the Zero Waste movement, a philosophy that aims to give new life to objects and materials, no longer considered waste, but reusable resources.
Almost all Bernardini Tartufi products are contained in practical glass jars, in various shapes and sizes, with a simple and elegant design that's easy to reuse.
Creativity and recovery
Reusing our glass jars
In a society now accustomed to "throwaway," where everything is purchasable and quickly becomes obsolete and needs replacing, the concept of reusing objects considered waste seems almost absurd.
But we at Bernardini Tartufi firmly believe that even small things can do big things and that changing some daily habits can help save the planet we inhabit.
That's why we try to significantly reduce waste production and favor reusable materials for both our packaging and our own packaging.
Our glass jars have a minimal, clean design and, once the paper label is removed, are perfectly suited to a wide variety of uses.
They can be useful kitchen accessories, serving as containers for homemade sauces, jams, or dressings (also perfect for freezer storage, but be careful not to fill them to the brim to allow for the food to expand due to the cold).
Larger jars can be effortlessly transformed into practical containers for pasta, rice, or cereals, or, with the addition of a label, into unique jars for salt, sugar, coffee, tea, or herbal teas.
But their use can easily extend beyond the kitchen.
With a little imagination, they can become true decorative elements and fit into any corner of the home: with the addition of string, a knob, or a few splashes of color, it's easy to transform a simple, unassuming glass jar into an original object that complements the style of your home.
Decorated glass jars are a must-have in a variety of decor styles: from vintage to shabby chic, from ethnic to boho, jars are an excellent blank canvas to customize according to your tastes and needs.
Besides being useful storage containers, they can also be used as original flower vases, romantic candle holders, or personalized place cards.
With the addition of simple string lights or light bulbs, they can be transformed into unusual and evocative lamps.
Giving new life to objects otherwise considered waste is a small gesture of love for our planet, allowing us to develop our creativity and personalize our home decor with exclusive, entirely handmade creations.
